
Since the first release of "Build Your Own Hydraulic Forging Press," by Dr. James Batson, there have been hundreds of presses built and put into service both among the blacksmithing and bladesmithing communities. The original plans are for building an C frame press, but soon new designs evolved and a second approach developed that worked around a closed frame or H frame design. The press in the photo above was built by Tommy McNabb based on the updated design by Jim Batson.
