We began quenching blades on Thursday and it proceeded into the night. It is a moment of passage when all the hard work of the week is put through the final trial by fire and the steel becomes a live blade. Everything done has been in preparation for this moment. We were fortunate that only two blades cracked during the quench and both of them were able to be saved.
