Viking made by Michael Langton, Hampton, NH. Michael is a nationally known doll artist and is widely recognized for his unusual carved figures. The bodies are specially designed to be fully articulate and can be positioned in any natural posture. I made the weapons for this piece. The sword is a Damascus blade duplicating a traditional Merovingian pattern in the steel. The handle was a piece of black oak from an original Viking ship sunk off the coast of Norway.
